Transitioning from relaxed hair to natural without the big chop

Wearing a natural hair is the best thing you can ever do to your hair.  However this doesn't mean wearing a relaxed hair is not good.  We all have our preferences and whichever you rock is cool,  so long as you cool with it.
I have many people who ask me how to transit from relaxed to natural without the big chop,  so I am writing this to help many people who find themselves in this situation.
There are series of simple steps you have to follow.  Continue reading after the cut.

1.  Determination and Dedication: This I call the Double D.  Going natural and enjoying you natural hair  is like have a baby and you know what it means to take care of a new born.  I liken transiting to a pregnant  woman.  From the moment of conceptualizing the idea of transiting to wen you have your  last inches of relaxed hair trimmed,   You have to be very careful,  pay lots of attention to your hair and eat right, that is when you are dedicated
Sometimes half way into transiting you  will be tempted to quit. That is where determination sets in.  You have to think about it as a your baby and you cannot quit on your baby,  you have to be hopeful.

2. PATIENCE :
This is a virtue you have to get.  Transiting  doesn't happen in 24hrs, a week or a month.  It takes as long as 5 months to 1year to get the comfortable amount of natural hair before the final chop/trim depending on how fast genetically your hair grows.

3. EAT RIGHT :
Like I said,  going natural is like having a baby,  so eating right is key.  You have to eat well and eat the right meal.  There are specific kinds of fruits and vegetables or even your regular food that contains the necessary nutrients that will keep your hair healthy and looking good.  This might need you to do some adjustments to your diet style. Having a lot of protein in your meal for example is very crucial for hair growth.

4. WATER:
Drinking lot of water not all replenish your body,  it also helps in proper blood flow and this will stimulate hair growth. Water is very good for your  hair just the same way it makes your skin glow or your organs function perfectly. Take a minimum of 2 liters of water in a day on a daily basis.

5. USE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS:
Not every natural hair products are necessary when transiting.  You will see all sorts of adverts for transiting hair people but don't be too gullible.
To start with you need products high in Shea Butter,  olive oil,  coconut oil  and mango butter. This four oils has their own specific functionality but when combined together it has a great effect; it enhances rapid hair growth,  leaves your hair always moisturized,  strengthens the hair and makes your hair fuller.  A good example is the Beautiful Textures hair care products range.  All four oils are essentially needed for a daily scalp massage I. E daily hair cream.  On my next post I will be talking extensively on all four oils.
You can buy Beautiful Textures moisture butter whipped cream  at www.lolynestores.com at a very good price.

Next week I will post on different  great hair styles you can do while transitioning. I hope this works great for you.
